Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is VPS and how is it different from Shared Hosting?

VPS (Virtual Private Server) is an isolated virtual environment with guaranteed resources (CPU, RAM). Unlike Shared Hosting, where resources are shared among hundreds of users, VPS gives you stability, speed, and configuration freedom.

What does Managed VPS mean at SERVER1?

Managed VPS means that our team takes care of the server’s technical health: operating system updates, security patches, monitoring, and backups. You focus only on your website or business.

Who is Unmanaged VPS intended for?

Unmanaged VPS is ideal for SysAdmins, DevOps engineers, and technical teams that want full root control and have the ability to manage server security and configuration themselves.

Do I have Root Access (full access)?

On Unmanaged VPS, you have full Root access via SSH. On Managed VPS, Root access is limited to maintain security standards, although all necessary functionality is available from the panel.

Is it possible to install Windows Server?

Yes, Windows Server installation is possible on our KVM virtualization platform. Please check the specific packages in the Unmanaged section or contact our support.

How are resources (CPU/RAM) increased?

Scaling is very simple. From the client portal, you can request a package upgrade at any time. Resources are added after a server reboot, without data loss.

How do backups work?

Managed VPS packages often include a configured backup system. For Unmanaged VPS, we offer additional FTP/S3 Backup space where you can store data using your own scripts.

Can I use Plesk or cPanel?

Of course. On Managed VPS, these panels are often preinstalled. On Unmanaged, you can purchase a license from us or install using your own license.

Where are the servers physically located?

We have locations in Georgia (Tbilisi), Germany (Frankfurt), the USA, and Singapore. During the order, you can choose your preferred location.

What type of drives do you use?

All our VPS servers run on enterprise-class NVMe SSD drives in a RAID array, ensuring maximum data protection and speed.

How protected is VPS against DDoS attacks?

Every IP address is included in our Anti-DDoS system, which filters malicious traffic at the L3/L4 level. For L7 (application-level) protection, we recommend activating a WAF service.

Can I move from Shared Hosting to VPS?

Yes, this is a natural growth process. If you choose Managed VPS, our team will help you migrate your website for free with minimal disruption.

What happens if I exceed the traffic limit?

Most of our packages include substantial bandwidth. If the limit is reached, the service does not stop, although speed may be limited or an additional fee may be charged (with prior notice).

How long does it take for the server to activate after ordering?

After payment confirmation, automatic provisioning prepares the server within 5-15 minutes (in the case of Linux OSs).

Does the server have a dedicated IP address?

Yes, each VPS server includes at least one dedicated IPv4 address. IPv6 addresses are also available.
